“Unhappiness exists in the form of thoughts alone”

Did you know that in psychology, there are two forms of happiness – hedonic and eudaemonic?

Hedonic well-being is the more commonly pursued. Prioritising seeking pleasure through comfort, success, financial freedom and ease.

Eudaemonic happiness is the deep fulfilment that comes from meaning, contribution and purpose. Created by acts of service that could potentially raise your general inner peace.

There Is No Distance Between You, Peace And Love

Decades of research has suggested that in the long term, the eudemonic is more rewarding and longer-lasting.

How often do we avoid happiness by tying ourselves in knots over imagined troubles? Do you often let anxiety and worry direct your feelings?

How much of our pain is real and how much is fear about what might or might not actually happen?

For, to quote the Greek Stoic Seneca:

“We are in the habit of exaggerating, or imagining, or anticipating, sorrow.”

Whatever your mind may tell you, there is no distance between you and peace, between you and love, between you and happiness. It is always present within you, though usually we are too absorbed in the activity of the mind to notice!

You can either be present in the moment or you can be thinking. Peace is the natural consequence of being present, even when you do not feel it!

My latest article reminds us unhappiness exists in the form of thoughts alone.

When fully attentive to the present moment, thinking ceases. And, in its absence, what remains is inner peace.

Then you can open to the opportunity Louise Hay set out:

“Remember, you have been criticising yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.”

Four Simple Practices To Help Access Your Inner Peace

Could this motivate you to live each day to its absolute fullest and to stop taking for granted our current abilities to make our lives full of fun and joy?

Using the moment to appreciate the gift of this current incarnation rather than feeling its apparent chaos!

The latest Message From Source indicated:

“Focus on your inner peace and how you can then use it to deepen your connection to the Creator, each other and all of creation. Viewing yourself as an Earth keeper rather than a resource taker.”

Finding inner peace is possible every day.

Carving out space to relax will help, though its calm, compassionate, deep awareness is actually within each of us.

What we have to learn to do is tap into it!

There are four simple practices in my latest article to help you access your inner peace.
